Obesity 'as bad as climate risk'

Obesity is like the climate change a threat to the public health. For the first time the potential risk is clear enough and it is everybody’s interest to change facts. Half of the population could be obese within 25 years according to a government study. The ministers have made a plan for a long term solution to tackle the problem. Furthermore has the government asked “The Food Standards Agency” to investigate the “trans-fats”. The health secretary, Alan Johnson, said that the problem only could be solved if the problem is recognized by every part of the society.

My opinion
I think that the government is waiting to long to tackle the Obesity in the UK. Why should we wait so long to do something? There are too many people who suffer from Obesity. I think that they should immediately set a new standard for the Food Agency, especially for the fast food restaurants. I think that the government is doing a great job by setting a health catering for kids at school. Teaching the kids to eat healthier food and warning them about the danger of Obesity danger is a good start to tackle the problem.

Ahmed,

Obesity is a great danger to the national health. I think that not only the government should take actions but the parents should do something too. They can teach their children not to eat processed foods or reduce the amount that they consume and learn them that healthy foods can taste great as well.
