Crossrail gets the green light

The Prime Minister Gordon Brown has given green light to start the building of the railway link through the centre of London. The Construction will start in 2010, and will generate 30.000 jobs. The £16bn railway link will not only generate jobs, but it is also good for London and the whole country. The government is providing a third of the money and the rest made up from borrowed from future fares and a levy on London business rates. Crossrail services have to be finished in about 10 years. Crossrail is not just a transport scheme; it is also the key to the next 20 years of economic development of London."

My opinion
I think that the railway link is a good idea because it will generate a lot of jobs and it is good for the economy. The transport of the railway will also increase; people will get faster and earlier to the other side of London. Gordon Brown has also said that London is preparing for the future. Besides it also will give more structure to the London transport scheme, and it will improve links to Heathrow and the airports. But I understand people who are living nearby the building of the railway are not glad because this will give a lot of noise.

I think also it is a good project for londen and the economy of England. If the railway will reduce the air pollution, than is het a cleaver idea from The Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
But if it is nog good for the environement, than The Prime Minister Gordon Brown must think something others. Another point, there must be studies about the noise in the sides of londen. Because there are living many peoples there.
