Police 'failure' in Menezes death

A planned operation on the suicide bombers at stock well Tube station in London cost the live of Jean Charles de Menezes. The officers mistook Menezes for a suicide bomber. Prosecutor Clare Montgomery said that the death of Menezes was caused by the fact that they carried out an operation in a public place. They planned the operation so bad that there was a risk to kill somebody in the public. The force denies the charge and the trial is expected to last six weeks. Mr Menezes, 27, was shot dead by anti-terrorist police during the biggest manhunt in the force's history.

My opinion
I think that it is a shame that the anti-terrorist police kill an innocent person during a danger operation. The force trains for this sort of situation s, how it is possible that it still goes wrong. I think that the anti terrorist police must be punished like every other individual for murder. Nobody is above the law. The government invested millions into the anti terrorist police to train them so that they work fast and secure as possible. I am also scared that such terrible event could happen to me or to anyone with an Arab look.

I understand your point exactly. This is really horrible and it never should have taken place.
But but in a critical situation like this, bad things can go wrong. We're all people and we do make mistakes. I also think the people who are responsible should face justice.
